Power Outage Safety

Stay Away From Downed Lines

Assume any downed or sagging power line is energized. Keep people and pets away and contact your utility or emergency services.

Use Flashlights, Not Candles

Use battery-powered lights when possible to reduce fire risk during an outage.

Protect Electronics

Unplug sensitive electronics during outages and storms to reduce damage from power surges.

Generator Safety

Never run a generator indoors, in a garage, or near windows. Carbon monoxide can be deadly.
